The project is a continuation of the work of the Palestinian Strategic Thinking Group, which was formed several years ago and produced several strategic studies and reports concerning Palestinian affairs. The Palestinian Thinking Group brings together a number of Palestinian thinkers and researchers from Palestine, the diaspora and the Palestinians of the interior.
The project runs for three years, 2017-2019, and includes the production of 12 research papers addressing multiple themes that are combined into a strategic report entitled “Palestine 2020”, with the report to be presented at a major conference held in the city of Ramallah in 2020.
The project's themes:
- The question of Palestine from the Israeli perspective.
- The question of Palestine from the regional perspective.
- The question of Palestine from the international perspective.
The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Palestinian Thinking Group in cooperation with the Oxford Research Group, the Madar Centre for Israeli Studies in Ramallah and the Pal-Think for Strategic Studies centre in Gaza. The project, in its previous and coming stages, is in full consultation with the institutions of the Palestinian National Authority
