Continuing the activities and events Pal-Think carries out within the project “Toward a society more aware of its electoral rights”, implemented in cooperation with the Central Elections Commission within the project “Partnership with civil-society institutions 2021 / phase two” funded by the European Union, Pal-Think carried out (35) awareness meetings in the different governorates of the Gaza Strip in cooperation with a number of civil-society institutions, targeting some (800 people) from society's different groups — women, men, youth of both sexes, and persons with disability — with the aim of strengthening society members' awareness of electoral issues and topics and encouraging them to take part in any coming electoral process.
During the meetings there was talk of “women's electoral rights between reality and application”, “the electoral process's role in strengthening democracy and belonging to the homeland”, “the stages of the electoral process, the procedures of each stage, and the role of the Central Elections Commission”, “the mechanisms of raising women's rate of political participation”, and “youth's role in strengthening the democratic process”.
These meetings were carried out using the interactive method, through discussion, brainstorming, success stories, case studies, and the showing of video clips setting out the most important information of each meeting; the meetings likewise included a set of questions and enquiries that were clarified and answered by the meetings' facilitators.
