In a special and distinguished meeting, Pal-Think for Strategic Studies hosted on Monday 10 December 2012 Mr Khaled Meshaal, head of the political bureau of the Hamas movement, in a meeting attended by 250 persons representing all the strata of society in the Gaza Strip. The meeting represented an important opportunity, unique of its kind, for Mr Khaled Meshaal to listen to the viewpoints and visions of those who do not belong to the Hamas movement, such as the judges, the active parties in civil society, the leaders of the Christian community in Gaza, the youth, women activists, the farmers, the unemployed, the businessmen, the fishermen, the farmers … etc.

In his word, Mr Meshaal took up many strategic issues such as: the Hamas movement and the future of the political system in Palestine; Hamas and the Arab Spring; the truce and the ceasefire with Israel; the Palestinian reconciliation; the two-state solution; Hamas and the position of the international community; and strengthening the concepts and foundations of accountability and answerability for the Hamas government in Gaza

Participating in the meeting, in addition to Mr Khaled Meshaal, were Mr Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Hamas government, and many members of the political bureau of the Hamas movement, as well as its leaderships at home and abroad.
