The paper focuses principally on the reality of Palestinian youth participation in the Palestinian parties and their engagement within them, and the extent of their ability
to reach advanced positions inside them and represent them at a leading, influential level through internal elections — and to contribute thereafter to drawing party policies fitting their needs, ambitions, demands, and youthful vision. The reality of youth in the Palestinian parties is, regrettably, an extension of their reality in the public sphere, embodied clearly in exclusion, marginalisation, withdrawal into the self, and distance from engagement in public affairs and from confronting the current national challenges and concerns battering the Palestinian cause and the national project — after they had once been the nerve of the national movement and its principal actor.
