Sport for unity and tolerance

The Youth Forum for Tolerance at the Pal-Think for Strategic Studies institution, in cooperation with the General Union of Volleyball, launched today the “Volleyball of Tolerance” tournament, under the title of the sports course for unity and tolerance, with the attendance of Omar Shaban, director of the Pal-Think institution, Abdel Salam Haniyeh, president of the union, Ahmed al-Ashqar, director-general of administrative and financial affairs at the Ministry of Youth and Sport, and Walid Ayoub, vice-president of the Olympic Committee.

In his turn, Omar Shaban, director of Pal-Think, expressed his happiness at being present among the sporting milieu, which he considers among the most brilliant milieus and the most serving of Palestinian society. Shaban added that his institution gives the youth special attention out of its belief in their constructive role in serving Palestinian society and their pioneering role in the advancement of peoples. Shaban pointed out that his institution's activities strive to support national unity and concord, which is embodied in the sports sector, considering that among his institution's goals.

Shaban hoped, at the conclusion of his word, that concord would prevail in light of the unifying atmosphere of the past days.

The sports kit was distributed to the teams participating in the tolerance tournament, which are the teams of the Islamic Association, the Islamic Complex, Shabab Jabalia, and the Namaa sports club.

It is recalled that the tournament is held on a half-league system over three days at the hall of the Islamic Association club and concludes next Friday.

It is worth mentioning that the members of the youth forum at the Pal-Think institution who are interested in and follow sport are the ones who communicated with the General Union of Volleyball, and it was coordinated with the union to launch the volleyball tournament of tolerance for the sake of unity and tolerance.
