Under the title of the mechanisms of pressure and advocacy, the Labour Resources Centre in Gaza concluded yesterday, in partnership with the Youth Forum for Tolerance at Pal-Think for Strategic Studies, a training course that continued for two days at 12 training hours, targeting 18 young participants representing labour unions and youth assemblies from all the governorates of the Gaza Strip.
In the beginning Mr Fayez al-Amri, chairman of the centre's board, opened the course, welcoming the participants and hoping that the course achieves its goals and that the participants benefit from the raised subjects within their youth assemblies and in their unions, to enable them to raise their problems and convey their suffering to the decision-makers.
During the course the trainer Laila al-Bayoumi reviewed the general theoretical frame of the concept of advocacy and pressure, building coalitions and communal networking, the media's role in the advocacy campaign, how to deal with the opponents and the campaigns, and planning the advocacy campaign
At the course's end the certificates and training materials were distributed to the participants, with the attendance of Mr Abdel Qader Abu Mahadi for the Resources Centre, Mr Ibrahim al-Ghandour from Pal-Think, and Mr Abdel Razeq Harara for the Union of Independent Labour Committees, where one of the participants presented a word of thanks to the centre for what it presents of support and backing for the youth and the workers, hoping there would be more courses that contribute to developing the youth's capacities and endowing them with new skills
It is worth mentioning that this course was implemented within the project / Toward conducting the public policies of good governance, respect for women's rights, and strengthening tolerance, which the centre implements in cooperation with Pal-Think for Strategic Studies.
