3/9/2013 – Gaza – The Youth Forum for Tolerance at the Pal-Think for Strategic Studies institution organised an exhibition, the first of its kind in the Gaza Strip, titled “Gaza through youth eyes”, with the participation of an elite of representatives of civil-society organisations, academics, media workers, and youth activists, and with wide media participation, on Tuesday 3/9/2013 in the hall of the Grand Palace hotel in Gaza.

The exhibition included 32 artistic pieces expressing tolerance within Palestinian society, photographed by a group of young amateurs who were trained at the Pal-Think institution for two consecutive weeks throughout the blessed month of Ramadan, with a musical interlude by talented children from the Gaza Music School.

The exhibition was opened by Omar Shaban, director of the Pal-Think institution, welcoming the attendees and praising their interest, thanking at the same time everyone who contributed to this exhibition's success. He spoke of the exhibition's importance and what it represents of aesthetic value, affirming the necessity of continuing the collective work aiming at elevating society, and asking the youth to always be filled with the drive toward building an aware generation.

The exhibition included a musical and singing performance carried out by a group of talented children from the Gaza Music School, and the performance added more joy and delight and met the admiration of the attendees, who expressed their pride at the existence of such talents, which need every care and attention to elevate Palestinian culture and arts.

In conclusion the attendees moved among a group of pictures that were the essence of the essence of what the team had captured during the training, and they expressed their thanks to the Youth Forum for Tolerance and to Pal-Think for their efforts to elevate Palestinian youth, develop their capacities, raise their issues, and draw moments of happiness and hope in light of the difficult reality — and the affirmation of the importance of activating music and art in all its forms to strengthen tolerance in Palestinian society, which suffers from the division and the occupation and needs more national unity and cohesion and psychological stability.
