Pal-Think closes the «Youth as a Force for Positive Change» project with a youth celebration

Pal-Think concluded the year-long MEPI-funded «Youth as a force for positive change» project with a celebration of more than 150 young men and women, joined by civil-society and youth-institution representatives from across Gaza.

Gaza — Pal-Think for Strategic Studies concluded the activities of the project “Youth as a positive force for change”, funded by the “MEPI” initiative, which continued for a year, with a youth celebration in which more than 150 young men and women took part, and which likewise included many representatives of civil society and the youth and communal assemblies and institutions in the Gaza Strip. The celebration comprised many varied youth segments, such as the entertainment segment with the participation of the “Bas Ya Zalama” team, the musical with the participation of the artistic “Sol” band, and the popular dabke with the participation of the “Arduna” team for Palestinian folklore, and a poetry segment with the participation of the poet “Amal Abu Assi”. During the celebration a documentary video of the project's activities was likewise shown, reviewing all the project's different stages and activities, in addition to presenting interventions via “Skype” of Palestinian youth success stories now on scholarship in Europe and the United States, who defied reality and the difficulties to cut the path of success.
On the project, which passed through three stages: beginning with the training course for the participants in the project, during which they received intensive trainings on the mechanisms of resolving conflicts by peaceful means, the skills of managing sessions and dialogues, the Palestinian Basic Law, the mechanisms of strengthening women's role in society, in addition to the youth's role in the development and advancement of society. Then the project's activities set off, which consisted of carrying out “15” training days on communal awareness and conflict resolution and later the implementation of “20” youth initiatives in cooperation with tens of the youth institutions and assemblies from all the governorates of the Gaza Strip. The project's activities targeted a total of “777” young men and women from the Strip's various governorates.
In the end the participating youth attendance expressed their happiness and pride in the youth taking part in the project for the diverse and important activities and initiatives they carried out during the project's period, and they called for more of such projects, which raise the cultural and knowledge level of the youth, in what creates a better future for them and for society.
