Gaza — 16/5/2016: In completion of the activities of the Youth Forum for Reconciliation and Tolerance affiliated to Pal-Think for Strategic Studies, a group of the youth of the Youth Forum for Reconciliation and Tolerance met the Danish consul Anders Frijborg and the political attaché Ms Milene, to discuss the reality of youth in the Gaza Strip and the problems and challenges they live because of the blockade and the division, and their demands of the international community to perform its role toward the catastrophic conditions the Gaza Strip generally, and the youth especially, are passing through. The Danish consul listened to the youth's proposals and ideas that would contribute to changing the stereotyped image of the Gaza Strip in European and Western society and that would support the youth and present help to them — among them: holding other conferences with European diplomatic and political personalities to convey the picture more clearly to them; establishing programmes that help educate the youth concerning their political, human, and legal rights; carrying out student-exchange projects between the youth of Palestine and youth from Europe so that each side can convey the picture it lives; and granting the opportunity to youth from Gaza and the West Bank to hold conferences gathering them to exchange dialogues and discussions. The youth called on the international community to continue support in order to pave the way before the Palestinians to complete the reconciliation, hold the elections, and end the division. The consul expressed his high appreciation of Palestinian youth generally and Gazan youth in particular — he sees in them the constant hope, strength, and determination for their fight in order to reach their goals. Finally, the consul praised the group of youth that attended the meeting and expressed his enthusiasm at the extent of their effectiveness and activity, and affirmed the necessity of holding dialogue sessions like this session in order to exchange the ideas and proposals that would help the youth. He affirmed that Denmark will continue its positive role concerning the Palestinian cause and its continuation in pushing Palestinian society toward reconciliation.
