Pal-Think for Strategic Studies organised a lecture titled “Effective marketing and networking for entrepreneurial ideas and projects”, attended by 20 university students and graduates from the Gaza Strip, of both sexes and various specialisations. This lecture comes within the frame of the project “Strengthening tolerance and entrepreneurship”.
The researcher and entrepreneur Ms Halima Abdel Aziz took up several different topics concerning the concepts of networking, marketing, and entrepreneurship. She spoke of the mechanism of pitching the entrepreneurial project's idea and the suitable place for that, in addition to the importance of presenting the idea in the suitable form. She pointed to the importance of verifying the entrepreneurial idea's feasibility — comprising study of the market, the product, the competitors, and the financial feasibility. The researcher also touched on the importance of market study and choosing the target group for the entrepreneurial project, under the name of market segmentation; she spoke of the project's marketing strategies, whether product or service, and their kinds; the mechanisms of networking and building strong relationships in the market; and how to obtain funding for the idea — which is not confined to financial support but may extend to include consultation, an experienced work team, capacity-building, and the acquisition of particular skills.
Ms Halima concluded the lecture by asking the attendees about their entrepreneurial ideas — asking the participants to write their ideas and what distinguishes them, encouraging them to press forward with them, and offering them advice and consultation in that regard.
