Introduction:
Never before has the Palestinian economy been exposed to a shock as hard and worrying as that caused by the corona (COVID-19) crisis — the result of the precautionary and preventive measures the government authorities took to deal with this crisis, which brought the wheel of the economy to a sudden halt: total paralysis struck some important economic sectors such as tourism, industry, and services, alongside the halt of many economic activities, the closure of the weekly popular markets, the closure of cafés and restaurants, the freezing of civil-society institutions' activity, and the loss by a large number of private-sector employees of their source of income.
