The paper focuses principally on the restrictions imposed on the freedom of movement and travel of Palestinian youth. International human-rights law guarantees Palestinians freedom of movement and travel like every other people, in a manner securing the minimum of human dignity. This paper documents the reality of freedom of movement in the Palestinian territories, still beset by complications imposed by Israel as an occupying power through restrictions placed on the movement of young people, aimed at limiting their mobility within the Palestinian territories. The paper also discusses movement and travel procedures in light of the Palestinian division, and aims to propose mechanisms that would help ease the restrictions imposed on Palestinian youth's freedom of movement, which curtail their ability to travel freely.
This youth policy paper was produced by young men and women within the “Civic Education 2” project implemented by Pal-Think with funding from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
