Pal-Think for Strategic Studies issued a fact sheet under the Palestinian civil coalition for strengthening civil peace and national unity project, titled “Hate speech and its repercussions on civil peace and social harmony”, documenting the effects of hate speech on Palestinian society and analysing its impact on civil peace.
The paper offers a set of recommendations for curbing violence founded on hate speech and strengthening civil peace in a way that does not conflict with freedom of opinion and expression — through enacting deterrent laws and measures at the official and unofficial levels to raise awareness of hate speech and its dangers to Palestinian society.
The “Palestinian civil coalition for strengthening civil peace and national unity” project is implemented by Pal-Think for Strategic Studies and REFORM, with funding from the Swiss government.
