This policy paper addresses the reality of Palestinian youth participation and access to decision-making centres in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Amid the political, economic, and social challenges Palestinian youth live through as a result of the Israeli occupation, the internal division, and the blockade on Gaza, young people struggle to find opportunities for effective participation in decision-making.
The paper stresses the importance of enabling youth access to decision-making centres as a step toward development and stability in Palestinian society, and points to the need to strengthen education and training opportunities and improve economic conditions so they can genuinely influence public policy.
The paper also offers alternatives, solutions, and practical recommendations — such as strengthening political dialogue between the West Bank and Gaza, providing platforms for political participation, and developing economic and educational opportunities — in order to achieve genuine empowerment of Palestinian youth across all fields.
