New release — policy analysis (3): The obstacles facing small businesses run and owned by women

Small enterprises owned and run by women face a web of obstacles: an economy still under occupation and dependent on external aid, the surrounding society's attitudes, and shortages of finance, information, and management and marketing capacity. The paper studies these constraints.

Small enterprises owned and managed by women face a set of obstacles and challenges. Part of them is tied to operating within an economy still under occupation, dependent principally on external aid and grants; another part is tied to the community surrounding those enterprises, as well as the shortage of funding and information, administrative and marketing problems, and other obstacles and challenges.

In this context, the paper attempts to study and analyse all aspects of the obstacles and challenges facing small enterprises, particularly those managed and led by women, by posing a central question:

What are the obstacles facing small enterprises managed and owned by women in Palestine?
