«Electoral Issues», episode one: the stages of the electoral process
Under «Towards a society more aware of its electoral rights», implemented with the Central Elections Commission and funded by the European Union, Pal-Think delivered further awareness activities.
Within the activities and events of the project “Toward a society more aware of its electoral rights”, implemented by Pal-Think for Strategic Studies in cooperation with the Central Elections Commission within the project “Partnership with civil-society institutions 2021 / phase two” funded by the European Union, Pal-Think carried out the first episode of the radio programme “Electoral Issues”, titled “The stages of the electoral process”, broadcast on Zaman FM radio on Mondays and Wednesdays of every week at exactly 12 noon; the radio programme comprises 8 radio episodes.
The meeting's guest was the lawyer at the Al Mezan Center for Human Rights, Samir al-Manaama, who spoke during the meeting of the stages of the electoral process — beginning with the first stage, the call for the elections; the stage of voter registration, publication, and objection; the candidacy stage, which extends for 12 days in the general elections and 10 days in the local elections; the electoral-campaigning stage, which extends 21 days in the general elections and 13 days in the local elections; the balloting stage, then the counting stage; and the final stage is the announcement of the results, under which the elections' result is announced in a unified manner across the whole homeland by the Central Elections Commission at a press conference
