Pal-Think won the Africa Freedom Award: Vision 2025, at a ceremony in Nairobi. The prestigious award is granted by the Atlas Network at the Africa Freedom Forum, honouring Pal-Think's promotion of dialogue, democracy and nonviolence in Palestinian society.
Pal-Think for Strategic Studies has won the Africa Liberty Award: Vision 2025, at a ceremony held in the Kenyan capital Nairobi. Pal-Think advances the methods of reflection, national dialogue, and the principles of democracy and non-violence in Palestinian society.
This prestigious award is granted by the Atlas Network within the Africa Liberty Forum, and honours Pal-Think's pivotal contribution to advancing freedom and supporting youth, civil society, democratic values, the methods of national dialogue, critical thinking, and peaceful participation in Palestine and beyond.
Pal-Think was chosen for this award in recognition of its work in one of the most challenging political environments in the world, where it works with civil society and youth in the Gaza Strip and contributes to producing policy papers and academic research in partnership with a constellation of Palestinian researchers and actors in the region and on the international stage.
Omar Shaban, founder and director of Pal-Think, said:
“We are deeply honoured that Pal-Think has won this award. This award belongs to every young Palestinian, and to every civic activist and citizen who believes in dialogue instead of division, and in knowledge instead of conflict. It is proof of the power of ideas to drive peaceful, democratic change, even in the hardest circumstances.”
The Vision 2025 forum is a vibrant gathering of freedom advocates and change leaders from across the region. During the forum, Pal-Think took part in discussing pressing issues concerning the region's future, in cooperation with partners and civil-society institutions working in the same field. The discussions covered topics such as economic freedom and individual rights through interactive workshops and stimulating debates that created opportunities for networking and the exchange of expertise. The forum was an opportunity to exchange ideas and develop practical tools for strengthening human rights and freedom in Palestinian society — for making a bright future for the region requires the energy of youth, innovation, and joint work to build a freer and more prosperous future.
Pal-Think continues its efforts to empower Palestinian youth, strengthen civic responsibility, and build a strong Palestinian civil society, despite the great political and economic challenges. By equipping young people with the tools of critical thinking, constructive participation, and the leadership of community initiatives, the institution contributes to positive change toward a peaceful and better life.
It is worth noting that this is the third time Pal-Think has been honoured within the liberty awards presented by the Atlas Network — highlighting the growing importance of the institution's work, especially amid the complex humanitarian, economic, and political conditions the Palestinian people and the region as a whole are passing through.
Pal-Think's honouring at the forum is not merely an award: it is a strong affirmation of Pal-Think's essential role in building a stronger Palestinian civil society and contributing to the shaping of a more just, inclusive, and democratic future in Palestine.
Amid the complex challenges facing beloved Gaza, Pal-Think remains committed to proving that positive change is possible even in the hardest contexts — when we invest in ideas, empower Palestinian youth, and narrow the gaps through civic dialogue and shared values.
