The Binaa Youth Centre concluded the «We Make Life's Hope» initiative with Pal-Think and FXB in Khan Younis, under «Restoring hope to Gaza's youth and children» — including recreational tuk-tuk tours.

The Binaa Youth Center concluded the initiative “We Make Life's Hope”, in partnership with Pal-Think for Strategic Studies and FXB, within the project “Restoring hope to the youth and children of Gaza”, in the Khan Younis governorate in the south of the Gaza Strip.

The initiative comprised recreational tuk-tuk rounds by a group of young facilitators and clowns riding a tuk-tuk and touring the public areas of Khan Younis, distributing gifts to the children, and carrying out scattered facilitation and play groups in several areas of Khan Younis in order to entertain the children and lighten the intensity of the psychological pressures on them while keeping distancing.

In addition to open recreational days for the children and the families in open areas, painting murals on the theme of rekindling hope in youth and children, and a photo exhibition for the children of school students' drawings.

The families taking part in the recreational days affirmed the importance of these initiatives and activities in improving their spirits, theirs and their student children's, especially amid the successive crises the Gaza Strip has passed through — Israeli aggression, closures because of the corona pandemic, and psychological pressure.

The students across the different activities carried out likewise agreed that they were happy with these activities, for they worked to integrate them with their peer children and provided them atmospheres of play and recreation interspersed with the distribution of toys and prizes.

This initiative comes as the outcome of the training camp “Youth Are Life's Hope”, which worked to train 20 young men and women from Khan Younis in writing initiatives, how to choose initiatives' ideas and link them with society and the youth category, the conditions that must be met in an effective community initiative, and in psychological support and recreation for the participating youth.

The young people work to carry out these activities after their qualification and training, in order to work with the different community groups and to apply practically what was taken up during the training camp.

These activities, carried out in partnership with Pal-Think, come within the Binaa Youth Center's plan after the latest aggression, where it carried out many activities and programmes aiming to lighten the pressures on all community groups, and release and psychological-support meetings.
