Pal-Think holds its annual general assembly meeting
Pal-Think held its annual general assembly, discussing the administrative and financial report and the coming annual plan, attended by Hamdi Al-Absi, director of the companies-oversight department at the national economy ministry.
Pal-Think for Strategic Studies held its annual general assembly of shareholders to discuss the administrative and financial report and review the coming annual plan, at its headquarters in Gaza City. The meeting was held in the presence of Mr Hamdi al-Absi, director of the companies-oversight department at the ministry of national economy, and with the attendance of 10 members of the company's general assembly — a legal quorum exceeding 75%.
The meeting was opened by Mr Omar Shaban, founder and director of Pal-Think for Strategic Studies, welcoming the attendees and affirming Pal-Think's role in enriching, strengthening, and encouraging discussion, dialogue, and reflection on the issues that concern the present and future of the Palestinian people. He noted that Pal-Think, through its activities and projects, has worked to strengthen cooperation and partnership among institutions from all the Palestinian governorates through supporting and funding joint inter-governorate initiatives. He affirmed that Pal-Think gives great attention to investing in youth — through its educational projects aimed at strengthening and developing their research capacities, narrowing the distances between their viewpoints, and strengthening the language of dialogue; and through its entrepreneurship projects that advance human development by teaching them and honing their entrepreneurial and leadership skills so they can compete in the Palestinian labour market and establish their own enterprises. He presented a summary of the institution's activities during 2022, especially in the field of strengthening societal reconciliation and national dialogue, in addition to strengthening young people's skills and encouraging partnership among the various institutions across the Palestinian governorates.
The financial report was read in full by the financial auditor, “Al-Wafa Company for Financial Consulting and Auditing”. The financial and administrative reports for 2022 were approved, the members of the board of directors were discharged, and an external auditor was elected for 2023 — in the presence of Mr Hamdi al-Absi, director of the companies oversight and audit department at the ministry of national economy.
It is worth noting that Pal-Think for Strategic Studies is an independent Palestinian civil research institution, licensed by the companies registrar at the ministry of economy of the Palestinian National Authority since March 2007. It works on the important national issues at the local, regional, and international levels, in addition to investing in youth and strengthening their capacities and skills.
