PalThink for Strategic Studies

The course «Conflict-environment analysis and strategic planning» concludes

Over four continuous days, Pal-Think — sponsored by the Swiss government — concluded a training course, the first of its kind in Palestine, delivered by British trainer Zahed Yousuf with fifteen years' experience in conflict areas.

Over four consecutive days of continuous work and effort, Pal-Think for Strategic Studies concluded, under the sponsorship of the Swiss government, the training course, the first of its kind in Palestine, with the training and lecturing of the British trainer Zahed Yousef, the possessor of 15 years' experience in the areas of conflict around the world, among them “Colombia, Rwanda, Ireland, Chad, Kenya, the Congo, and other states.

The trainer invented a new computerised system for analysis that includes dismantling the conflict environment, specifying the parties concerned and the relations of power and influence between them, and building intervention strategies built on the analysis — around the ways of strengthening the role of society generally and the youth especially, to achieve the reconciliation and harden it in the post-conflict stages. 19 male and female trainees from grassroots civil institutions and young activists participated in the course, in a way that qualifies them to apply this model more widely in their life fields. The national reconciliation is a continuous process requiring the effective participation of all the structures of society and on methodical scientific foundations. Benefiting from the experiences of others is very useful, taking into consideration the particularity of each conflict.
