Pal-Think concludes the training «How to start your own business»

Pal-Think concluded the training «How do you start your venture?» with 20 university graduates holding small-business ideas, under the tolerance-and-entrepreneurship project with the Atlas Network.

Pal-Think for Strategic Studies concluded a training titled “How do you start your project?” with the attendance of 20 young men and women of the university graduates in Gaza who possess ideas for small projects. This training comes within the project “Strengthening tolerance and entrepreneurship”, a project the Pal-Think institution launched in partnership with the international Atlas Network, aiming at strengthening the culture of tolerance and entrepreneurship among the youth in the Gaza Strip.

The training was opened by Mr Omar Shaban, director of Pal-Think for Strategic Studies, who welcomed the participating entrepreneurs and affirmed the Pal-Think institution's keenness on helping the young men and women hone their talents and develop their skills in the various scientific and practical fields for the sake of a better future for them.

The training continued for three days, in which the trainer Samah al-Safadi took up several subjects concerning management, production, marketing, and finance — the most important of them the concept of the project, entrepreneurship, and the entrepreneurial project. She likewise spoke of how to establish one's own project and to create and develop its idea through the diverse means; she likewise acquainted the participants with the concept of the business model and the business plan and the difference between them, the concept of the marketing mix and the competitive advantage, in addition to how to calculate the project's costs, and the difference between the project's assets and the operating costs.

During the training the trainer showed the participants the successful entrepreneurial models around the world, making clear that the common factor among these entrepreneurs is that they made failure a stimulus for them to be stronger in reaching their goals — adding that despite all the difficult circumstances from which the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip suffer, there are many successful and honourable entrepreneurial models that have proven that circumstances do not stand as an obstacle in the face of success, such as the many small projects and companies recently known in Gaza, founded by a group of young entrepreneurs who were able to reach their goal.

At the end of the training the participants expressed their gratitude and their thanks to Pal-Think, making clear the training's importance for them, and they affirmed the increase of their knowledge of new ideas, the laws of the market, and the promotion of goods and services — which will have a great effect on carrying out the needed development of their future projects' plans.
