Pal-Think concludes a training on international law and human rights
Pal-Think concluded the training «International law and human rights» with 20 students and graduates, under the tolerance-and-entrepreneurship project launched with the Atlas Network.
The Pal-Think for Strategic Studies institution concluded a training titled “International law and human rights” with the attendance of 20 young men and women of the students and graduates of the universities in Gaza, within the project “Strengthening tolerance and entrepreneurship” — a project the Pal-Think institution launched in partnership with the international Atlas Network, and this project aims at strengthening the culture of tolerance and entrepreneurship among the youth in the Gaza Strip
The training continued over 3 days, and the training sessions were supervised by the two legal lawyers Mr Mohammed Abu Hashem and Mr Mohammed al-Talbani. The training comprised many subjects suited to the needs of the targeted category relating to human rights, among them: an introduction to human rights, the international legitimacy of human rights, international human-rights law, freedom of opinion and expression and democracy and civil peace in international law, tolerance in international law, the principle of the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary, fundamental concepts in public international law, in addition to the resolution of international disputes by peaceful means.
In his turn Mr Omar Shaban, director of Pal-Think for Strategic Studies, affirmed the importance of this training, which comes within Pal-Think for Strategic Studies' priorities of educating and increasing knowledge among the youth, especially in the field of human rights and democracy, to raise their competences in this field, and to develop their capacities in human rights and acquaint them with them by supplying them with knowledge of the mechanisms that can be followed to defend their rights. And calling on the male and female participants to convey what they learned in the training to their peers to generalise the benefit.
At the end of the training the male and female participants expressed their gratitude to Pal-Think for Strategic Studies for its attention to the youth and the increase of their awareness of their rights and of all the subjects and issues that increase their knowledge and their skills in practical life.
