Gaza — The Pal-Think for Strategic Studies institution carried out a lecture titled “The history and situation of Palestine and the Palestinian cause in the international arena: the United States and the European Union as a model”, within the project “The Youth Forum for Politics and Development”, which comes in cooperation with the “National Endowment for Democracy (NED)”. Pal-Think hosted Dr Jamal al-Fadi, a university lecturer and political analyst, with the participation of a team composed of 25 youth (13 females : 12 males) within the age category 18–24, who have the passion to learn about politics and development.

The lecture aimed at analysing the history and situation of the Palestinian cause internationally, especially the roles of the influential powers — specifically the United States of America and the European Union.

The lecture's principal axes comprised Palestine in a changing world, the United States and the Palestinian cause, the European Union and the Palestinian cause, in addition to the repercussions of “Trump's” presidency on the peace process in the Middle East.

Dr al-Fadi likewise touched on the discussion of a number of sub-axes, comprising the following: the changes in the structure of the international system and their reflections on the Palestinian cause; the positions of the American administrations on the Palestinian cause; the American–Israeli relations: the dimensions and the indications; American projects that accompanied the establishment of the State of Israel 1948–2019; the governing determinants of “Trump's” policy toward the Palestinian cause; Trump and his vision of the Palestinian cause.

In the conclusion, Dr al-Fadi urged the youth to read, for its importance in forming knowledge and a cultural background for them — a matter that contributes to their development and increases their knowledge of their Palestinian history; since understanding and grasping the magnitude of the events and transformations and their repercussions on Palestine requires summoning up the historical circumstances to which it has been subjected.
