PalThink for Strategic Studies

The training programme «Expression and intellectual writing skills» concludes

Pal-Think concluded the training «Expression and intellectual writing skills», July 2019 – February 2020, under the Canada-funded «Promoting democratic participation of Palestinian youth» project.

Pal-Think for Strategic Studies concluded a training programme titled “Skills of expression and intellectual writing”, which extended from July 2019 to February 2020, within the project “Strengthening the democratic participation of Palestinian youth”, with support from the Government of Canada. This comes within “Pal-Think's” efforts in strengthening sustainable human development through investing in youth — in a simple celebration organised with the programme's participants yesterday, during which the certificates of achievement were distributed to the participants.

The encounter was opened by the director of “Pal-Think”, Mr Omar Shaban, thanking the trainers and trainees, and he said: “We are proud of this programme because we found a noticeable difference among the trainees in writing research papers, oratory, and body language.” He added: “Pal-Think is a place always open to youth, and we are ready to publish other research papers by the trainees.” Mr Omar Shaban extended thanks and appreciation to the programme's participants and to the trainers supervising the programme, Ms Heba al-Danaf and Mr Yahya Qaoud, as well as to the Representative Office of Canada to the Palestinian Authority for its support of the project and the continuous partnership with Pal-Think for Strategic Studies to strengthen youth's role, develop their competence, and qualify them for the labour market.

For his part, the programme's trainer Yahya Qaoud said: “We grounded the trainees on a solid scientific base, and the result of that is that most of the research papers targeted communal issues concerning youth, and pursue the standing problems of society.”

The trainees spoke of the difference the training made in their lives. The trainee Mai al-Sous (25 years old) said: “The training strengthened my capacity for writing generally, and I am currently working on writing a screenplay for a short film about life here called 'Gaza's Spot'.”

As for the trainee Nourhan al-Tabatibi (26 years old), she said: “The training developed my writing skill, and I have come to have a critical eye. And now I have joined another training programme for writing policy papers and situation assessments.”

The trainees likewise agreed that the programme developed their body language and their capacity for oratory. They concluded their talk by thanking “Pal-Think” for its great efforts exerted since 2007 to carry out communal reconciliation and its interest in youth.
