Part two of the training on strengthening civil society's capacities in civil peace and national unity concludes
Pal-Think delivered part two of its training programme building civil-society organisations' capacities in civil peace and national reconciliation, in continuing cooperation with civil society.
Within the continuous efforts the Pal-Think institution exerts in cooperation with civil society institutions for the sake of strengthening civil peace and national reconciliation, Pal-Think for Strategic Studies carried out the second part of the training programme for strengthening civil society institutions' capacities in the field of civil peace and national unity, within the project “Strengthening cooperation between civil institutions for communal harmony”, implemented by the Pal-Think institution and REFORM in partnership with the Swiss government. It targeted the members of the “Palestinian Civil Coalition for Strengthening Civil Peace and National Unity” in the Gaza Strip, which comprises 49 civil institutions in the northern and southern Palestinian governorates. These institutions will work through the project on carrying out joint communal activities and initiatives targeting all society's strata and calling for the joining of efforts to achieve national reconciliation — thereby activating the role of the coalition's members to be positive influencers toward contributing to strengthening civil peace.
The training aims to develop the skills and capacities of the workers of the partner institutions in the field of carrying out activities and initiatives related to the issues of civil peace, national reconciliation, and communal peacebuilding.
On the first training day the trainer Samah al-Safadi took up the skills of monitoring and evaluation and the stages of preparing the budget, making clear the definition of monitoring, its functions, and its kinds; she likewise set out the steps the monitoring process passes through, as well as the quadripartite monitoring process, in addition to her talk on how to prepare the executive plan and the financial budget of the activities and initiatives and the mechanisms of overseeing their implementation.
The trainer Mohammed Abu al-Qumbuz likewise spoke on the second training day on the skills of digital advocacy for the sake of strengthening the values of civil peace and national reconciliation through the optimal exploitation of social media and the means of social communication.
It is recalled that this training is counted part of a series of training programmes Pal-Think will work to implement in the coming days for the members of the Palestinian Civil Coalition for Strengthening Civil Peace and National Unity, in order to strengthen and develop their capacities in the coalition's fields of work.
At the close of the training programme, the representatives of the civil institutions members of the coalition expressed their thanks to the Pal-Think institution for carrying out such trainings, hoping for the holding of more encounters and trainings of a kind to strengthen and develop the skills of the workers in the grassroots institutions.
