The «We Live by Hope» training camp opens

The Palestinian Association for Development and Heritage Protection (PADHP) delivered the «We Live by Hope» training camp with Pal-Think and FXB, under «Restoring hope to Gaza's youth and children» — psychological support for the community.

The Palestinian Association for Development and Heritage Protection PADHP carried out the training camp (We Live by Hope), in partnership with Pal-Think for Strategic Studies and FXB, within the activities of the project “Restoring hope to the youth and children of Gaza”, which aims to support Palestinian society psychologically and contribute to lightening the effect of the traumas and crises caused by the latest aggression on Gaza.

The camp targeted 20 young men and women volunteering in the works of relief, emergency, and rapid response for the displaced families across the different areas of the northern Gaza Strip.

The camp's training days began with high turnout and liveliness: all the training works and activities were carried out in open, distinctive places such as the circus tent, the strawberry garden, and open places of nature and wide spaces — which had a positive and effective effect in releasing the negative energy and the set of psychological pressures the young volunteers passed through and were subjected to during the aggression on Gaza. The camp took up several skills in communication and community leadership. The initiative's coordinator Ms Basma Ibrahim affirmed the importance of youth's role in society and the necessity of qualifying them with multiple skills, they being the leaders of the future and the model for the coming generations — and accordingly the importance of honing the youth's capacities and skills in contact and communication, the art of leadership, and collective work in a team spirit and with high self-confidence, gaining them successful life skills that enable them to communicate positively and take a leading role in their communities. The camp likewise aims to qualify the youth to carry out community initiatives that restore hope to the members of Palestinian society and support all its groups to overcome the trauma caused by the crises and the aggression on the Gaza Strip.
